News and Information:
-Scholastic Book Orders were sent home today. I will place the order on Thursday April 30. This may be our last book order for the year! Stock up on some great books for summer reading!
 -Reminder that April Book it forms are due next Friday, May 1st. Keep encouraging your children to read!
-The 1st-3rd grade musical will be on Friday, May 8th at 7pm. The 2nd graders have been asked to wear green shirts (preferably a green polo) and khaki bottoms for their costumes.
-This Saturday 4/25 will be the Fine Arts Festival at Lutheran High. Our artwork will be displayed.  
               Parking for the event will be at a premium. In addition to hosting the elementary school fine arts festival, there will also be baseball games, and a soccer tournament on campus. Please plan accordingly. You may park in the Rec Plex lot of the City Hall lot.

-We have exhausted our supply of dry erase markers in 2B. If anyone would be willing to donate one or two for their child to use for the remainder of the year, that would be wonderful:)

Week 33

This week our class spent a lot of time reviewing all of the different spellings of plural nouns. We will continue practicing these throughout the year, as they can be pretty tricky! We also began our poetry unit. We've been busy reading and writing all types of poems. The kids were surprised to learn that poems don't always rhyme!

News

  • Students in PDO-2nd grade will celebrate Week of the Young Child on May 4th-8th. During this week, we celebrate the blessing of young children, especially all of the young children here at Zion! As part of the celebration, there will be optional dress-up days this week. The themes are listed below: 
    •  Monday: Sports Shirt Day-wear a sports shirt of their favorite team 
    •  Tuesday: Favorite Color Day 
    • Wednesday: Spirit Day - Wear red or white or Zion wear 
    • Thursday: Stripes Day 
    • Friday: Mismatched Socks Day 
    • Please remember that these dress-up days are optional! If your child chooses not to participate, he/she should be in Zion standardized dress (K-2nd grade). If your child participates, he/she doesn't have to be in standardized dress. It 
  • Mark your calendars! Friday May 8th at 7pm will be the performance of "Adam's Apple," the musical for grades 1-3
