Week 26

Our four day week flew by! We stayed busy learning about persuasion writing, and the kids got to write a little of their own. They had to decide if ant should be squished or not, and wrote a short persuasive paragraph. Look for their writing done during center time this week for some funny persuasive paragraphs...apparently many of them think that kids should be allowed to ground their parents:)  This week we also learned about the Chinese New Year (the 15 day celebration began on Thursday). To celebrate we cleaned our desks getting rid of the old to make way for the new, ate oranges for good luck, and made dragons for strength. We also watched some cool videos of the dragon and lion dances; both are traditionally used in New Years Parades.
Coming up with persuasive reasons why chocolate is the best icecream

To squish, or not to squish, that is the question!

We learned how to multiply groups of 10 this week!

They will spend next week making items for their store.  Market Day will be held on Friday in the church basement. Please help your child think of something they could sell to customers.
