4/9-4/13

Looking Ahead to Next Week:
Memory: Every word of God proves true. Proverbs 30:5
Spelling: ange/ash: exchange, orange, change, strange, arranged, flashing, trash, smashed, bashful, cashew
Grammar: Dictionary Skills including abc order, guide words, and finding the definition of unknown words.
Phonics: Plurals Review
Reading: Poetry--we will be focusing on alliteration and rhythm
Math: We will have a math test on Thursday.
Science: We will be learning about light energy and spend a little time reviewing light, heat, and sound energy.
Writing: Poetry Writing


Important News and Information:

-We will dismiss at noon on Wednesday!

-We will have a guest speaker come to our classroom next Friday. She is from 1st Community Bank and will talk with the kids about the importance of saving.

-Week of the Young Child is Next Week!

  • Crazy Sock Day - Wear your silliest socks with regular dress bottoms. 
April 17 Tuesday
  • Spirit Day - Show your Bobcat pride...wear red, white and black with regular dress bottoms. 
April 18 Wednesday
  • Sports/Athletic Day - Wear your favorite team shirt with regular dress bottoms. 
April 19 Thursday 
  • Favorite Color Day - Wear your favorite color...from head to toe! They do not need regular dress bottoms today!
April 20 Friday 
  • Pajama Day - Wear your comfy pajamas and slippers (remember a change of shoes).  You may bring one small stuffed animal. They do not need regular dress bottoms today!

In science this week, we learned about heat energy. We did an experiment where we tested what would happen to an ice cube when passed around in our hands. Heat changes matter!

In art, we learned about Georges Seurat and his method of painting called pointillism. The kids then made their own landscapes using only dots. It was tricky, but a lot of fun!
