3/5-3/9

Looking Ahead to Next Week:
Memory: The Tenth Commandment--You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Spelling: Lesson 24--ow/ou:how, now, plowed, town, brown, owl, scowl, could, would, should
Grammar: Compound sentences and conjunctions
Reading: We will be reading many stories by Dr. Seuss. We will be working on retelling, as well as finding the theme in a story.
Math: We are going to slow down a little bit this next week and spend some time reviewing the many concepts we've been learning, especially spending time reviewing money, time, double digit addition and subtraction, and facts. We will only have math homework on Tuesday and Thursday next week.
Science: Magnets--ch. 11 Lesson 4. A study guide will go home on Monday and we will have a test on Friday.
Writing: Descriptive Writing

Important News and Information:
-I will be out of town from Thursday afternoon (3/15)- Friday 3/16. I'm traveling to Wisconsin for a family thing. If you have any special updates to dismissal arrangements or anything those days, please contact Julie Schmidt, and she will let the sub know.
-4th Quarter starts on Monday!
-The Zion Auction is next Friday, March 16th


-3rd quarter is the first quarter of the year that we grade writing. Below are samples of writing with their scores, and explanations. This will help give you an idea of how I grade your child's writing.





Market Day was a huge success!
